
John Agathangelou
jagathangelou@aklegal.grHe is a lawyer with extensive experience in Civil Law, Financial and Capital Markets Law and Banking and Corporate Law. He has successfully handled numerous cases involving compensation claims for clients related to complex financial products, as well as compensation claims across the full spectrum of Civil Law. He also has experience in handling enforcement proceedings.
He has served, among other roles, as a legal advisor to the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, legal advisor to the Secretary General of Higher Education, legal advisor to the Hellenic Investors Association and Board Member of investment service firms.
He has also served as a member of the Legislative Committee of the Ministry of Education for the establishment of the University of Performing Arts.
He is a member of the Athens Bar Association, the International Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
To date, he has authored numerous studies, including: “The Secondary Description of Risk in Maritime Insurance Law with Emphasis on ‘Warranties’ clauses” (2021), “Cross-Border Enforcement under the Greek Code of Civil Procedure and European Procedural Law” (2020), and “Letters of Indemnity: Use and Legal Evaluation” (2019).
He holds a Master’s Degree in Commercial Law from the Law School of the University of Athens and graduated from the Law School of Democritus University of Thrace.
He speaks English and German.
